The long-awaited Reconciliation Bill has provided some finality to all of the various proposals coming out of the Democratic-controlled Congress. We will review the impactful tax law changes for high earning and wealth clients and consider planning to be done prior to the various effective dates of the legislation. We will also discuss what the remaining planning strategies are for clients to consider.

John Schuman is the Co-CEO and Chief Planning Officer of Budros, Ruhlin & Roe, Inc. John’s expertise includes estate planning and taxation, income tax, general business, succession planning, and charitable and retirement planning.
Prior to joining Budros, Ruhlin & Roe, John was a senior manager with Deloitte & Touche in its Private Client Advisory group. Previously, he practiced law with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. He has been a featured speaker at conferences of the Columbus Bar Association, the Financial Planning Association (FPA), National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Ohio CLE Institute, The Columbus Foundation, and the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University Law School (summa cum laude). John is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Columbus, State of Ohio and American Bar Associations.
John is a past president of the Board of Trustees of the ALS Association Central and Southern Ohio Chapter, and a former trustee and treasurer of the Rotary Club of Upper Arlington Foundation. He also serves as a member of the Professional Council of The Columbus Foundation and an advisory board member of the Conway Family Business Center of Central Ohio.
