WEST REGION: New Mexico Community group will host an event - Planning for Business Owners
Please visit the New Mexico Local Group Community Page for more information and how to RSVP.
This program examines the major planning issues business owners face when preparing for continuity, transition, and long-term business survival, with emphasis on succession planning, buy-sell design, and key employee retention. Participants will review how a coordinated planning team can help address business owner goals, family and successor conflicts, transfer timing, asset allocation, and fairness considerations in a business transition. The program also covers the principal buy-sell arrangement structures, business valuation approaches, funding methods, and the use of executive benefit and retention strategies for key employees. By the end of the session, attendees will have a practical framework for identifying planning gaps and evaluating business continuation strategies in the context of broader estate and financial planning.
Presenter: Madison Jones, Corporate Vice President, Advance Planning Consultant at New York Life.
Madison has an MBA and a JD. She practiced estate planning law for several years before joining NY Life as a consultant in the advanced planning group assisting business owners and HNW individuals/families.
