Philip is a principal of Financially in Tune, LLC with has over twenty years’ experience providing financial planning and investment management to individuals and families. He specializes in working with clients who are recently widowed, involved in education, healthcare, and legal professions. He has extensive experience helping clients prepare for retirement, get the most out of their retirement, and navigate issues experienced by those who are widowed or divorced. He also serves as the firm's Chief Compliance Officer.
Philip earned a BA in economics from Kalamazoo College in Michigan and completed the financial planning program at Boston University. He received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ mark in 2004.
Philip previously volunteered on NAPFA's Leadership Development Committee and is a former member of the board of directors for the NAPFA Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region where he served as Treasurer, President and Chair. He has participated in NAPFA's "Tips from the Top" Web series and has contributed to the Boston Globe's "Money Makeover." He has been quoted in Kiplinger's, the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, The Christian Science Monitor, AARP: Ask The Expert, BankRate.com, Huffington Business and other national financial magazine and blogs.
He is a former corporate member of the Marblehead Festival of Arts a not-for-profit organization comprised of area residents who volunteer their time and services to promote and foster artistic events and activities in the town of Marblehead MA.
In addition he is the past treasurer of the Clifton Improvement Association (CIA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to the preservation and use of Beach Bluff Park in Swampscott, Mass. This small oceanfront park is owned and cared for by the CIA and is open to the public and enjoyed in every season.
Having grown up in the New York State’s Hudson Valley, he now lives in Marblehead, Massachusetts with Kristen Nyberg and their three children (a game art designer, technologist and union commercial electrician). His interests include classical and jazz music, hiking, gardening, historic preservation, supporting music and visual arts, museums, travel. As an avid hiker he completed hiking the 48 4,000+ foot peaks in New Hampshire in October 2017 and walks about 4 miles daily. He has plans to hike Tour Du Mont Blanc or the Dolomites in a post Covid-19 world.
